The last three seasons, on the ground.
Twelve representative projects. Each was built end-to-end by our four-person crew. Photos marked with a label are placeholders until we get the homeowner's permission to publish the finished shot.
- Masonry
120-Foot Stacked Stone Retaining Wall
A sloped backyard had been settling for years with a failed timber wall and no drainage. We tore it out, poured a fresh footing, and dry-laid 120 feet of fieldstone with geogrid every 24 inches and drainage tile behind the wall.
- Stone
Floor-to-Ceiling Fieldstone Fireplace
A 14-foot interior fieldstone surround with hidden mortar joints, color-matched to a sample the homeowner brought back from a trip to the Catskills. Three weeks of hand-set work; it's now the focal point of the living room.
- Pavers
1,800 sq ft Herringbone Paver Driveway
Tear-out of a cracked concrete pad, full base prep over geotextile fabric, and 1,800 sq ft of herringbone interlocking pavers. Clean curb-to-house edges, polymeric joints, and proper drainage away from the foundation.
- Steps
Bluestone Tread Entry, Five Risers
Replaced a failing brick stoop with five bluestone treads on a re-poured footing. We adjusted the rise/run to meet current code while keeping the entry visually proportional to the 1940s brick façade.
- Brick
1920s Row-House Façade Restoration
Restored 32 linear feet of brick façade on a 1920s row house in Paterson — failing lintel repair, brick replacement using period stock sourced from a Newark yard, and lime-mortar tuckpointing matched to the original joint profile.
- Concrete
Exposed Aggregate Patio and Walkway
Tear-out of a failing concrete patio with embedded river rock, replaced with a fresh 4,000 PSI pour, exposed-aggregate finish, and clean control joints. Re-graded for proper drainage away from the house.
- Free-Standing Fieldstone Garden WallStone
Free-Standing Fieldstone Garden Wall
A 60-foot free-standing fieldstone wall along a property line. Hand-set with no mortar showing on the face; the homeowner wanted it to look like it had always been there. Two-sided veneer over a reinforced core.
- Chimney Rebuild Above the RooflineBrick
Chimney Rebuild Above the Roofline
Failed flashing and pulled mortar joints meant the chimney needed a full rebuild from the roofline up. We tore down to a sound course, re-flashed in lead-coated copper, rebuilt with matched brick, and capped with a new stainless steel surround.
- Brick Front Stoop with Bluestone TreadsSteps
Brick Front Stoop with Bluestone Treads
Demolished a sagging brick stoop, re-poured the footing, and rebuilt with new brick risers and bluestone treads. Re-graded the front walk so water drains away from the porch instead of pooling at the base.
- Concrete Driveway ReplacementConcrete
Concrete Driveway Replacement
Removed and replaced 950 sq ft of original 1960s concrete driveway. Fresh sub-base, #4 rebar grid, 4,000 PSI mix with proper expansion joints, and a broom finish to match the homeowner's request.
- Pool-Deck Paver InstallationPavers
Pool-Deck Paver Installation
Installed slip-resistant interlocking pavers around an 18-foot vinyl pool. Coping was set first to lock the pool edge, then the deck pavers laid in running bond with drainage falling cleanly away from the water.
- Brick Walkway ReplacementBrick
Brick Walkway Replacement
Replaced a cracked concrete walkway with a sand-set brick path in herringbone pattern. Polymeric joints to prevent weed growth, and the walk was widened from 3 ft to 4 ft to better fit the front entry.
