Clifton's older sections — Athenia, Lakeview — were built when Garfield was still being subdivided. The masonry techniques and materials are nearly identical: same Hudson Valley brick, same lime mortar, same bluestone walkways. A Clifton repointing job and a Garfield repointing job are essentially the same engagement. Allwood was developed later and built differently. Postwar ranches there have concrete-block foundations with brick veneer rather than full-brick walls, which changes how repair work approaches lintels and weep holes. The east-facing slope through Allwood also means drainage shapes wall design — more than the flatter Clifton sections.
